Varaždin for EYC 2021 and Rijeka ECoC 2020

Rijeka:2020, as the supporter in our candidacy process to become the European Youth Capital 2021, had invited us to participate in their integrated learning programme The Classroom.

Workshops, mentorships, establishing partnerships, seminars and meetings with cultural sector under the Business2Culture theme, were great opportunity to understand a new models of cooperation in cultural sector, new models of fundraising within the cultural industry, as well as the opportunity for networking with the representatives of cultural sector from Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Croatia.

At the conference, it was also mentioned that there is an unequal treatment of employed and unemployed artists in terms of paying contributions, and the system does not recognize the entire young generation of artists who do not seek classical employment (freelancers) and that there is a need to define it better through a new law.

Regarding the development of our Under Construction candidacy programme, within the context of the cultural sector, Rijeka:2020 helped us in networking, the facilitators showed us the potential models of realization of some programme activities, and after all, they supported us in our next steps.
